Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a bike ride option this year?
We regret that we had to drop the bike ride from the event. The desire of some riders to “race” and the high cost of insurance led us to this difficult decision.
Is the 5K course certified?
Yes! USATF Certification #NC17031DF
Are there awards for the 5K race?
Yes! Awards are provided by Fleet Feet Sports of Carrboro & Durham. Awards include top 3 overall M&F and top 3 M&F in these age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
Are walkers and baby joggers permitted in the 5K?
Walkers are welcome, but the Durham Police require all participants to maintain at least a 15 min/mile pace. Baby joggers/strollers are welcome, but we ask that you start toward the back of the pack.
Are dogs permitted on the 5K course?
Unfortunately, no. We love dogs, too, but our insurance does not allow them on the course.
Can I come for the block party if I don’t want to run?
Yes! There is a “Party Only” option in the registration. It provides admission to the post-race block party as described in the next question. https://BullMoon.itsyourrace.com/register/
What is included with the block party?
Yes! There is a “Party Only” option in the registration. It includes the live classic rock, Moe’s southwest grill burritos and sides & beverages (including1 free beer for age 21+ with ID).
